Dragonfruit are common here (I live in Asia) but I have never brought myself to try one before due to its strange appearance and somewhat unappealing flesh. Any idea what it tastes like?
It could be Hylocereus megalanthus, the yellow pitahaya. In order to get them to fruit you need to grow them up some kind of trellis, after the plant has gotten established it will begin to branch outward. The fruit will set when the branches begin to arch downward. I hope that makes sense. They also like a lot of food and sun, of course.

I have over 40 varieties of dragonfruits but I have never seen flower like this before.
